Last March 16, 2024, just ahead of Holy Week, our community engaged in a meaningful act of service at the Women’s Jail Dormitory in Lapulapu. In Matthew 25:36, the Lord said and I quote, “I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.” This is the first time that HCC visited a correctional facility. Despite space limitations, 15 of us from HCC gathered to visit the Persons Deprived of Liberty.

It was a heartwarming morning as we shared the message of Jesus' love and presence with the inmates. We prayed together, played games organized by brother Jed and sis Mona, and distributed essential items including toothpaste, shampoo, soap, rice, and feminine pads. Special speeches were delivered by brother James and the jail warden, deepening the sense of connection and compassion. Our time together was a reminder of the importance of reaching out and showing kindness, especially during this season of reflection and renewal.
